I'm one of those people who assume that most people are "good" people.
You know, people who do the "right thing," have "good morals," and so on.
Lately the perpetually positive person in me is becoming a bit jaded.
A few weeks ago, I opened my car door to the entire contents of my console dumped on my drivers seat.
My first reaction, was to assume that Tim was looking for something before he went for a run the night before... and then I realized that all of my change, along with my ipod and bracelet from our wedding was... Missing. Gone. Stolen.
After letting the cops know that some jerk was helping themselves to the contents of neighborhood cars and pouting about it for most of the day, I got over it. Realized it was just "stuff," all of which I could live without or could be replaced if need be. Still felt bad for my car, who had been molested by a stranger.
Life goes on.
This morning, while checking my bank account, I notice a $75 transaction at a gas station in the Bronx on Tuesday night. I don't think I have ever been to the Bronx, and certainly not at midnight on Tuesday buying gas.
So tell me, are people not as "good" as I assume there are? Is it a sign of the times?
Maybe, it's just me.
